Streetopia / Streetopia ~ On June 22nd, 2017, Transportation Alternatives launched Streetopia — the single largest effort ever attempted to free New York City from the automobile.. Even though most New Yorker do not own a car, 80% of the open space in New York City is filled by parked cars and congested traffic — an unfair use of space in a city where space is a precious commodity.

Booklyn ~ (This is not to be confused with the 2015 Booklyn “Streetopia” trade book). Artists were asked to consider the title of the book and send ten pieces of artwork; a great creative blizzard of diverse approaches and media then descended upon Booklyn. We humbly thank all the incredibly generous artists and binders who made this project possible!

After the festival another book documenting the festival was produced in part with further funds generated by the festival itself.
